Download Our Template
If you are ordering Photo Buttons,
simply upload the photo and we will do the rest.
If you do not have an image sized to the appropriate specifications,
you will need a template to begin laying out your design. The
templates given below are the appropriate size for all 1",
1.25", 2.25" and 3" buttons. To begin your
layout, please left click one of the following Photoshop Template
links and select "Save". If you are using
the GIF, right click the template and select "Save
Picture As...". Then save the file to a
location that's easy to find (for example: your desktop or where
the image you want on the button is located).

SECOND - Place Image Into Template / Size Up
You will need to open up the template in an image editing program,
such as Photoshop®, Illustrator®, Image Ready®,
Paint Shop Pro®, or any other program that allows you to
manipulate images, preferably using "layers". Take
your image (at the highest resolution), place it inside the
template, and follow the guidelines below.
The example image below is for 1".

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you completely
cover up the space in which you want to cover as the template
is just a guideline, so please make sure that what you send
looks exactly like what you want! In other words, make
sure the red and blue guidelines do not appear in your image!

The Image Area, where you place your design, should
be approximately .9" in diameter for a 1" button.
If you wish, you can make it a little larger or a little
smaller, but .9" is a good place to begin. This
is mainly where the image and text is seen, so try to keep the
bulk of your design within the blue ring.
The Background Color tells you how far the outside color,
or pattern, needs to extend so the edge of your button doesn't
show white on the frontal sides of the buttons. If
a white edge is preferred, you can simply leave this area blank.
If you'd like a color or pattern to wrap around the
button, you must extend it all the way to the Cut Line.
The Cut Line is the circle into which your actual button
design is centered. This makes cutting your design easier
and helps to achieve more accurate cuts. Any part
of your image that goes past this area will not show up; it
is the part that is tucked inside to lock the top of the button
to the bottom.
If you leave any of the guidelines on, we will either turn off
the layers or do our best to remove them unless you give us
specific instructions on the Order Form that you want to leave
them on. Your final printed version will not contain
the red and blue rings.
Here's an example of how your final version should fit

THIRD - Save Your Image
Please save your file between 300 - 600 dpi for
the best possible printing results.
We prefer .psd, .eps, .ai, .tif,
.pdf and .png files. Other image files (such as .jpeg
or .gif) are accepted, but may produce a lower quality
print.
If you must save your file as a .jpeg,
please make sure it is saved at the highest quality.
Please do not send pictures from the
Internet as these are usually very low quality and will
not print properly. Remember - What you see is what you
get!
If the files are Raster Images (such
as a scanned image or picture), they need to be at least
300 dpi.
Please Rasterize any text layers, as
we may not have the font in your file. If we don't, we
will ask you to send the associated font via email.
Photoshop EPS files need to be saved
as 'Binary'.
PSD or TIF files are preferred for photographs.
RockButtons.com is not responsible for
images submitted with very low resolution, poor contrast
or any other image related problems. Please factor in
the size of text and small lines within
the context of the print size.
TIP: For better results
on more complex images, increase the resolution of the template
to 600 pixels/inch while still maintaining the original
document size.
